Introduced in 1984 to mark Breitling's centenary — and built on the DNA of the "Frecce Tricolori" chronograph developed with the famed Italian aerial squadron — the Chronomat brought the mechanical chronograph back to prominence at a time when ultra-thin quartz watches dominated the market. This 2020 example carries a sunray blue dial with black chronograph sub-dials, applied polished indices, and a red-tipped central chronograph seconds hand bearing the italicized Breitling "B." The sub-dials follow the classic 3-6-9 layout: running seconds at 9, a 30-minute counter at 3, and a 12-hour counter at 6, with the date window integrated into the 6 o'clock register. The 42mm stainless steel case pairs a screw-down crown with the Chronomat's signature rider-tab bezel, and closes with the brand's Rouleaux link bracelet.

Powering the watch is the in-house Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, a self-winding, COSC-certified chronometer with a column-wheel chronograph mechanism and a 70-hour power reserve. The sapphire crystal is glare-proofed on both sides, and a sapphire caseback allows a view of the movement.

This one is a 2020 complete set including Breitling warranty card, original travel case and outer box, warranty card, instruction manual and hangtag. The watch is in very good condition with light wear, full links intact, and verified running strong and accurate on the time grapher.
