A rare example of one of Chopard's most ambitious neo-vintage achievements. The L.U.C. Quattro 1863 was conceived as an answer to a simple question: how far could a manually wound movement be pushed? Chopard's answer was Caliber 1.98 — four stacked mainspring barrels arranged in two pairs, delivering a formidable 8-day power reserve, COSC chronometer certification, and the Geneva Seal, all housed in a 38mm 18k white gold case.

This example features a silver guilloché dial by Metalem — the same storied dial maker later responsible for the Philippe Dufour Simplicity — paired with blued dauphine hands and applied white gold dart indices. The power reserve indicator sits at 12 o'clock, while a combined running seconds and date display occupies the subdial at 6. The case back is fully exhibited, showing off the finishing on Caliber 1.98's oversized bridges.

Originally limited to a nominal run of 1,860 pieces, true production numbers are widely believed to have come in well under that figure, and it remains a watch rarely seen on the open market. This example is individually numbered 290 of 1860, as engraved on the case back.
